We just received Music Man's new classic StingRay basses; beautiful reissues of the original StingRay's that also combine a few modern updates. I was especially excited by the cool colors, string mutes, and the 5-string, which is more similar to the 4 than any previous StingRay.

What other classic basses are just dying for a similar treatment? Any much-loved vintage instruments that need a freshening up and release? My vote: the Guild Starfire. How about you?

Peavey's first-generation TL-6 with the black knobs before they went to the concentrics in gold! Hartke's aluminum neck XK- or XL- something's (?) with the mirror pickguard!!

dale,i agree completely, gibson should totally reissue the eb-2...its amazing,i wish it was on the market brand new today..i think fender should reissue the v bass..the one with the higer c string, it only had like fifteen frets, but it made playing a wider spread of notes easier and faster.

I would really like to see Gibson re-issue the EB2-D in a 335 or 359 body with long scale maple set neck. Another coming of the Fender VI would be great if upgraded to modern tech

I would like to see a reissue of the Steinberger L series and the one that looked like a flying V(sort of). I would also like to see a review of the new Wal Basses. They are back and would like to see what the BP staff thinks of them. I value your opinions. There was a rumor that Fender was going to make a replica of the Allman Brother's Barry Oakley's bass a while ago. Is it going to happen? Finally the original version of the Stingray bass is available. That's the holy grail of basses. Thank Musicman for me cause I'm getting mine.
