Fast-forward to this year’s NAMM show, where the now-11-year-old wandered into the Fender/SWR booth and took part in a spontaneous hour-long jam with Marcus himself. A crowd formed, jaws dropped, and the buzz blew up. “Awesome!” was how Brandon described playing with Marcus. “Our hands were moving at the same time. That was cool.”
Said SWR’s John Willis, “It’s a rare thrill to be witness to the present and future of bass playing.” Brandon’s father Johnnie is “just proud to know him, and honored that he’s my son.” As for Brandon, he says, “I’m just having fun.” We bet!
