Bassist| December, 2006 Kermit Driscoll, a longtime veteran of Bill Frisell’s band and a busy New York City bassist, has a debilitating case of late-stage Lyme disease. The symptoms, which affect the cardiac and nervous systems, have greatly hindered his ability to work. Driscoll is on long-term intravenous antibiotics, and his medical care has drained his financial and insurance resources. Fellow New York bassists John Arbo (Sweeney Todd) and Mary Ann McSweeney (Avenue Q) have been spreading the word and raising contributions, and now they have helped set up the Kermit Driscoll Fund, through the Local 802 Greater New York Musician’s Union. To aid Kermit with a tax-deductible donation, send a check payable to “Emergency Relief Fund,” and mail to: Bill Dennison, Local 802 AFM, 322 West 48th Street, New York, N.Y. 10036. Put “Kermit Driscoll Fund” in the memo line. |
