Bass Player LIVE!, held in New York over a late October weekend, was extraordinary for lots of the “poster” reasons: an incredible concert (see page 34), dozens of killer clinics, and a exhibit floor stuffed with the latest gear from a gaggle of bass manufacturers.
But it was the intangible hang-factor that made the weekend a truly special event. Where else would you bump into Victor Wooten in the lobby, share an elevator with Stanley Clarke, and hit the pub that night with your new bass buddies to swap all the day’s stories?
