Jim Stinnett Workshop on Paul Chambers at David Gage String InstrumentsMarch, 2008 Our phenomenal year continues with another DGSI workshop that you do not want to miss. Jim Stinnett’s books on bass-playing are best-sellers here at the store and we are lucky to have him here in person. If you want to attend in person, make sure to get/reserve a ticket or contact us in any of the ways listed below. The focus of Jim Stinnett ’s workshop will be the music of Paul Chambers Of course, if you can't make it down to our shop, you can still attend and participate in the workshop by loging on to it at mikesmasterclasses.com. Online participants of the live event can ask Jim questions via the chat-room. Later on, a recording of the event will be available for download. About Jim Stinnett Today Jim Stinnett is a seasoned professional. While performing on the Acoustic or Electric bass, Jim displays a high level of empathy for the music and musicians involved. His ability to make others sound good has made Jim a highly sought after performer. He is also quite active as a producer / arranger. His recent projects attest to his musical diversity. Jim has performed with: Jean-Pierre Rampal, Phineas Newborn Jr., Tal Farlow, Diane Schure, Ernie Watts, Red Garland, Ernestine Anderson, "Phish", John LaPorta, Roy Hanes, Mark Elf, Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, Roy Clark, Bob Hope, GodSpell. Jim has also recorded with: John Laporta, Greg Hopkins, Kenwood Dennard, Bill Pierce, Mick Goodrick, and Steve Rochinski. Jim's former students include: Mike Gordon, Steve Bailey, Gregg Bissonette, and Jeff Sipe.
