Jimmy Haslip Co-Headlines WesFest 4 Benefit Concert In L.A.

The first three WesFests raised over $32,000. WesFest 4’s take is still rolling in, but it’s already the best year ever for both attendance and fundraising. “I was thrilled and proud to be a part of this wonderful fundraiser,” said Haslip. Also performing was the 2008 Wehmiller Scholarship award winner, Ohio native Steffie Willis. The award is given annually to a continuing Berklee student who best exemplifies the excellence and grace that bassist and Berklee alum Wes Wehmiller (1971–2005) showed as a musician and a human being. Before succumbing to thyroid cancer, Wehmiller toured the world with Duran Duran, and played with Warren Cuccurrullo, Lisa Loeb, and Dweezil Zappa, among others.

Plans are already in the works for WesFest 5. Visit www.weswehmiller.net to learn more.
