Jonathan Herrera: In The Studio

I was recently in the studio with Matthew Charles Heulitt (Narada Michael Walden, Vusi Mahlasela, Zigaboo Modeliste),  a fantastic Bay Area guitarist. We were working on his new album, and did the tracking at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland--right around the corner from the famed Yoshis jazz club. Most of the record features Dan Feiszli (www.studiorhythm.com) on upright, but I played electric on 2 tracks. I used my F Bass BN5 through a Millenia Media TD-1. Dan also produced and engineered the track, so I know he was particularly attentive to the tone...all in all, I think it turned out pretty good! Go to Matthew Heulitt's myspace page (www.myspace.com/mattheulitt) to hear the tracks, "Never Present" and "Fountain of Worth."
