A great set of rollicking blues from veteran keyboard man Wayne. Russell Jackson has mastered the art of doubling the pianist’s left-hand boogie-woogie line, while still maintaining a presence in the music. His 1938 Kay bass was formerly owned by jazz great Major Holley and the mojo is palpable. He also thumps some old-school funk out on his ’65 Fender Jazz.
