New Travel Upright Bass

March, 2008

Since the latest round of size/weight regulations implemented by most international airlines, travelling with a double bass has become almost impossible. At just over 4ft long by 18 inches wide and 8 inches deep, the suitcase-sized package weighs in at under 10 kgs! It all packs away in the flight case body with external scuff cover. Travelling with a double bass is no longer a problem.

Developed from the Hi Tech range of EUB s, this bass sports a full ‘Brescia’ style body which for travelling encloses the backbone of the instrument – still in tune and ready to play – setting up –takes a matter of seconds.

Stand up and play and the bass leans into the player’s body with a secure stability not usually associated with electric uprights – sit down and play arco and the bass sits with you in comfort thanks to the natural feeling body. Standard ¾ scale with fully arched fingerboard, sophisticated sensing system including on board Pre-amp EQ and optional fingerboard ‘slap’ pickup for Rockabilly players. Presto nylon wound strings complete the specification for a real ‘gutty’ sound. A skeletal body outline moulding is still an option giving body reference points in a travelling size of 4ft long in a sausage style carry bag.

Bass full spec full bodied  from £1395.With skeletal moulding  from £995.

Production starts March 2008.
