Robert Helbig has been the bassist for the metal band Soulgates’s Dawn
since December 2005. This band had a smashing debut in 2004, released
their second album in 2007 and will present their third album entitled
“Messiah” in 2009. Messiah is also the most mature-sounding, melodic
and at the same time heaviest effort of the band that continues where
the previous album left off and doesn’t forget to still take it up a
notch. Born in 1985, Robert grew up in the small town of Olbernhau in
Germany and now lives, works and studies in Jena. How did he start with
music? His efforts started as a childhood dream that became a reality
when he and his friends started making music at the age of 14. They
bought instruments, practiced and rehearsed till the fingers bled. They
kept motivating each other and vowed not to give up and are still very
close friends as of today - although they are geographically far apart.
Robert left his old band “Robogünther, diestahlmachine”, a band that
was previously called Caedes, in 2005. Now it was time to study in
Jena, but soon after moving he realized that his musical career was far
from over, in fact it was starting much stronger than before. They
offered him a spot as a bass player in the band Soulgate’s Dawn and he
had nothing else to say but yes. The album Messiah, Soulgate’s Dawn new
album, will be released on March 20th, 2009. Then the boys and Robert
with his Warwick backline will basically tour, tour and tour.

to rattle your teeth out of your head. Come and check it out for
yourself. How else can I say it? Their gear f@*#ing shreds!”
