Review: Miguel "Kaleidoscope Dream"
By Jon D’Auria

On Kaleidoscope Dream, Jayme Silverstein provides deep textures to counter the smooth production and slick vocals of R&B singer Miguel. Equipped with his 5-string Fodera Emperor, Silverstein powers “Use Me” with scorching finger work, countering his backbeat approach on the album’s title track. Silverstein lets loose on “Where’s the Fun in Forever” pummeling high end runs with skillful ease. He turns to his Virus TI synth for much of the album, which provides chest-rattling frequencies and head-nodding grooves.
