Just shy of 40 minutes, this buzz-worthy collection of insistent stompers and mid-tempo cruisers heads a new class of Southern-bred college rock out of Athens, Georgia. Sure, the album has a few less-than-brilliant moments (like the sleepy “1000 Wives”), but Adam Saunders (of fellow Athens band the Pendletons) triumphs throughout, serving meaty fills with guts and grace, his spindly lines supported by a rock-rooted trellis of tone.
