CD Review: Faith No More "Soul Invictus"

In the 18-year span since the previous Faith No More album, Billy Gould has stayed busy with many projects, and perfecting his array of techniques is clearly one of them.

In the 18-year span since the previous Faith No More album, Billy Gould has stayed busy with many projects, and perfecting his array of techniques is clearly one of them. Penetrating sonically with a crunchy, gain-driven tone from his signature Zon bass, Gould lets fly with electrifying riffs like the syncopated gem on “Superhero.” Having recorded the album himself, you can be sure Gould’s gritty frequencies are prominent in the mix, as displayed on “Sunny Side Up” and “Separation Anxiety.”
