For their third album, Florence and her musical machine trade whimsical harps and sparse string arrangements for a bolder sound à la ’70s Fleetwood Mac. This departure bodes well for Mark Saunders, who asserts more authority than ever before. “Caught,” “Mother” and “Hiding” show the most distinctive character we’ve heard from Saunders’ playing, and it makes a powerful impression.
