Bass guitar is seldom found on the typically bass-heavy, programmed tracks in the increasingly popular psychedelic-electronica genre, but on Magnifique, Evan Mast’s electric bass work shines on songs like “Cream on Chrome” and “Primetime.” When he does decide to break into genre-appropriate synth lines, he stays true to the groove instead of going for the gnarliest frequencies.
