CD Review: Squarepusher "Damogen Furies"

Tom Jenkinson’s musical identity as Square-pusher consists of two very opposite, highly polarized personalities: an electronic mastermind with a harsh sonic palette of odd and jarring programmed sounds, and a virtuosic bass player who creates organic, acid-jazz-ish compositions. Although the metallic, industrial bass sounds on Damogen Furies are certainly interesting and somewhat mesmerizing, I had my fingers crossed that his 6-string bass would make a long-awaited return. Next time, perhaps.
