Charles Mingus and his band headlined the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1975 and opened their set with this tremendous performance of "Devil's Blues." Mingus, accompanied by Dannie Richmond on drums, George Adams on tenor saxophone and vocals, Don Pullen on piano and Jack Walrath on trumpet, kicks off the song with a bass solo that demonstrates his rhythmic and melodic mastery.
