Dirty Loops delivered an impeccable performance at Slim’s in San Francisco on November 19, and bassist Henrik Linder demonstrated why he deserved the 2014 Young Gun award he picked up at Bass Player LIVE! The Swedish band’s pyrotechnic pop pleased an incredibly diverse audience, especially the numerous representatives of SF’s low-end community.
“There’s no band quite like Dirty Loops,” says Jonathan Herrera, who wrote BP’s October cover feature on Linder and was in the audience at Slim’s. “They’ve managed to make jaw-dropping fusion as palatable to the masses as the average Top 40 tune. Basically, they’re a sort of miracle.”
“After being mind-blown seeing Henrik at BP Live! earlier this month when he received the Young Gun award, I was excited to see BP offering a chance to win tickets to the Dirty Loops show in San Francisco,” says ticket winner Garey Noble. “The entire band is stellar. Linder takes it to the next level with his creative phrasing, note choice, fingering, and, above all—stunning execution. It’s refreshing to see such a blend of pop music and deep musicianship. Those guys are the real deal! Many thanks to Henrik and the rest of the band, as well as Bass Player!”
