This Time It’s Real: Rocco Returns To Tower Of Power

Following a year and a half absence from his five-decade gig propelling the legendary soul horn band Tower Of Power with his iconic finger-style funk feels, Francis “Rocco” Prestia has returned to the stage. Thanks to a successful kidney transplant and rehab, and with the help and support of friends and fans all over the world, Rocco resumed touring on April 10th. BP caught TOP’s bumpin’ second set at B.B. King’s in New York City six nights later to find Rocco riding his new signature ESP RB-1004 bass in lockstep with drummer Herman Matthews (subbing for David Garibaldi, currently out on medial leave). Afterward, we briefly caught up with the Rock to see how he was faring.
