Stonefield Musical Instruments Releases Double Neck Bass

The instrument is based on our G Series instruments, with the Indian-produced bodies and necks, shipped to me and assembled here in our New Zealand workshop.

The instrument is based on our G Series instruments, with the Indian-produced bodies and necks, shipped to me and assembled here in our New Zealand workshop using the Tomm Stanley™ Tuning System and incorporating upgrades to the electronics and other hardware.

Specs on the Four-string Neck:
-34-inch scale length
-Three-piece laminated maple bolt-on neck
-Indian ebony fingerboard
-Uses our Classic string spacing (approx. 19mm between strings at the bridge)

Specs on the Stinger Neck:
-20-inch scale length
-Three-piece laminated maple bolt-on neck
-Indian ebony fingerboard
-Uses a mix of bass and guitar strings (.085 to .013)
-Uses bass electronics
-Tuned in the guitar register with the same standard tuning as a guitar (eadgbe)

Overall Instrument:
-Alder body core
-Maple top
-Neck selection switch (four-string, both or Stinger) above the upper neck
-A single soapbar style humbucking on each neck
-The rear pickups were replaced with maple dummies to reduce weight and provide a thumbrest
-Both necks incorporate the Funk Plate between the pickup and neck to facilitate more accurate double thumbing
-Both necks use the Tomm Stanley™ Tuning System
