Tribute Statue of Lemmy Kilmister to be Unveiled on Sunset Strip August 24th

The event will consist of over fifty pieces of original art produced by Sharpie Artist and Kilmister Statue creator Travis Moore, which will focus on music and its role and history in Los Angeles’ iconic imagery.

Los Angeles artist, Travis Moore, has made headlines for spearheading the new artist movement involving Sharpies, creating completely unique and complex artwork, creating the movement of “Sharpism."

On August 25th, 2016, Travis Moore will be hosting the Pop-Up Art Event at Art On Scene on 8521 W. Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA at 7PM. This opening reception will feature a red carpet, catering, quality entertainment and live art, and will be run out of a pop-up space located in close proximity to The Rainbow Bar & Grill. The VIP invite-only event will be comprised of invited guests, celebrities, patrons, as well as friends and family of The Rainbow Bar & Grill, Motörhead and the artist Travis Moore, many of which will also be attendance at The Kilmister Unveiling and Dedication party.

The event will consist of over fifty pieces of original art produced by Sharpie Artist and Kilmister Statue creator Travis Moore, which will focus on music and its role and history in Los Angeles’ iconic imagery. In addition, there will be a “Mini-Lemmy” Museum that will feature Lemmy’s personal items,a s well as all the pictures drawing and work done to complete the Lemmy Kilmister Statue. Featured will be exclusively signed posters, prints, shirts, and event miniature reproductions of the statue.

Travis Moore, a local LA artist has been selected to create the life-size bronze sculpture of Ian Fraser "Lemmy" Kilmister, former bassist and frontman of Motörhead. Travis is a native of Texas, holds a BA in Fine Art as well as a Masters degree in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He has been creating art from the age of two, even having a short 3 panel comic strip in his local paper at age five. His talent was fostered by his mother, who herself has an Art degree from SFASU; her friends and artists Grace and Loyd Carey; and his junior high and high school art teacher, J.D. Beltran. Travis was mentored by Gary Frields while at SFASU, a tremendously dedicated instructor and amazing artist. It was there at SFASU that Travis first began to experiment with his own individual drawing process, which he refers to as “Sharpism”. Travis came to the Los Angeles area in 2005 and has since been part of a number of shows in the area, including two Sharpie sponsored shows at Crewest Gallery and hosted Art Jam: a live art and music event held at The Whisky a Go Go.
