Phil Jones Bass has announced that esteemed South African Bassist, Bakithi Kumalo, of Paul Simon’s band will endorse the PJB brand and feature the company’s products in the upcoming Paul Simon 2017 summer tour. Kumalo is a bassist, composer, and vocalist, who has worked with a wide variety of artists including Tedeshi-Trucks Band, Gloria Estefan, Herbie Hancock, Cyndi Lauper, and Harry Belafonte among many others. Kumalo is most reknowned for his fretless playing on Paul Simon's 1986 album Graceland and has recorded and toured regularly with Simon since then. Kumalo’s many solo albums include San Bonan, In Front of My Eyes, Transmigration, Change, and After All These Years.
Bakithi has chosen the PJB Suitcase Compact Combo, C4 Speaker, and the Ear Box near field monitor as the stage rig for the tour. In addition he will pack the PJB Bighead Micro-Headphone Pre Amp (slightly larger than an Iphone) and H-850 Headphones for practicing and spontaneous recording during the tour.
