Bass Player Presents Jerry Jemmott April 11 at Little Lou’s BBQ San Jose

Bass Player Presents is over the moon with excitement about welcoming BP’s 2001 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient to the South San Francisco Bay Area for a special show. A lineup of regional all-stars will rotate around the legendary sideman and session star to help deliver the hits the Groovemaster forged with some of the biggest names in music history including Aretha Franklin, B.B. King, Gil Scott-Heron, Duane Allman, King Curtis, the Rascals, and many more.

Jemmott played on the studio recordings of “Think,” “The Thrill is Gone,” “The Revolution Will Not Be Televised,” “Games People Play,” “People Got to Be Free,” and a host of other classics. He also played a starring role in the feature documentary Jaco.

Read an informative article on Jemmott’s history with keen insights on his hugely influential playing style in this Blues You Can Use piece by BP writer Ed Friedland.

On April 11, a gang of top Bay Area players and singers will bring Jemmott’s catalogue to life. Kid Andersen (Charlie Musselwhite, Elvin Bishop), Jim Pugh (Robert Cray), Chris Cain, D’Mar, Lisa Leuschner Andersen (American Idol finalist), Ron E. Beck, Loralee Christensen, Dennis Dove, Frankie Ramos, and Eric Spaulding are scheduled to appear.
