As an in-demand sideman, bassist and composer Bubby Lewis has found acclaim and success in the worlds of jazz, hip-hop, R&B and beyond, performing with the likes of Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Lupe Fiasco, Jhene Aiko, Tha Game, Kim Burrel, Stevie Wonder and others. And now Lewis has added another chapter with his new solo single “Friends,” released via Ropeadope Records in October 2018. The song is already garnering acclaim for its retrofuturistic sound and catchy hook, sumptuous synths, deep groove and robotic vocals.

“Music is my life and I live my life through music. I want to evoke a visual experience of my journey and be an avenue for the world to communicate with me. I’ve always appreciated all genres and styles of music and I want to break the boundaries of music stereotypes. I want my journey and my music to encourage people to never be afraid to take risks. No matter what type of career or hobby you are in; business, art, cooking, fashion, whatever it may be, my hope is to encourage people to step outside of their comfort zones and explore new experiences.” ~ Robert “Bubby” Lewis
