The accomplished bassist passed away on March 16th, 2018 of a heart attack at his home on Whidbey Island.

 

Influential double bassist and cellist Buell Neidlinger passed away on March 16th, 2018 at his home in Whidbey Island. His wife, Margaret Storer, said the cause was a heart attack.

Neidlinger flourished in many genres as a player, recording and performing with greats such as Cecil Taylor, Billie Holiday, Babra Streisand, Tony Bennet, The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, The Eagles, Earth, Wind and Fire, Stewart Copeland, Leo Kottke, Ringo Starr, Ry Cooter, Elvis Costello, Roy Orbison, Bob Seger, Natalie Cole, Bonnie Raitt, and many others.
