Bassist Eva Gardner (Pink, Gwen Stefani, Cher, The Mars Volta) and her family are reopening their famed Hollywood restaurant and pub, Cat & Fiddle. From the Gardner family:

The Gardner Family is at it again. Kim and his wife Paula first opened the Cat & Fiddle in 1982 in Laurel Canyon as a reprieve from the constant entertainment in their living room. Coupled with the fact that there were no British pubs in Hollywood, Londoner Kim was delighted with the idea of opening his own - he loved to entertain! Kim was a bass player and an integral part of the British Rock Invasion of the 60s and 70s. His mum was a magnificent English cook and many of our traditional recipes are hers.

Paula and her 3 daughters continue the legacy of “The Cat.” Eva, Ashlee and Camille Gardner grew up at the Pub and have strong backgrounds in business and hospitality. They spent much of their childhood in London and travelled around from pub to pub with their parents, soaking in the culture and community that these places represent.

The Cat & Fiddle, known as a haven for locals, British ex-pats, tourists and Arts and Entertainment professionals for the past 34 years, will reopen in a more intimate space in Hollywood, 742 N. Highland Ave, just north of Melrose at the edge of Hancock Park.

The new location includes a hand crafted pub bar, a tudor style facade on the front of the building and an intimate lush garden patio. The Cat will be open for lunch, dinner, brunch on the weekends and will be available for catering and private functions. They return with a fresh perspective while keeping their most popular fare such as their renowned Fish & Chips, Savory English Pies and Bangers & Mash. Some menu items will be prepared in the wood burning stove, such as Sunday Roast and a variety of flatbreads.

Building onto the brand, they will have their own private label English-style dry cider, “The Cat’s Cider,” and will be adding their own Gin and Scotch later in the year. They have a list of carefully selected drafts - local crafts and imports. The Cat’s happy hour includes $5 beer, wine and well drinks and $6 appetizers.

Join us June 5- June 11th for the Cat's grand opening week, which also be a celebration of their 35th year. There will be Pie & Pint Specials, DJs, live jazz music, small irish pipes, photobooth, and special musical guests.

Eva Gardner Reflects on a Lifetime of Ampeg

Los Angeles, CA - June 2016...Eva Gardner is a first-call bassist who’s held it down for the likes of Pink, Gwen Stefani, Mars Volta, Cher, and Telstar. You might say she was born to play bass. Growing up in a rock and roll family, her dad Kim Gardner was bassist for the legendary British Invasion band The Creation, and his Ampeg bass rig is among her earliest recollections.
