Could any band be better suited to re-imagine Charlie and the Chocolate Factory than Primus? Inspired by Les Claypool's appreciation for Wonka's dark humor and the original 1971 version of the film, Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble took the show on the road in October and will continue their US tour with dates through January.
Primus founder and December Bass Player cover artist Les Claypool tells Yahoo that fans will be treated to a set list that includes tunes from throughout Primus' career, as well as a visit to the band's version of Wonka-world.
"We come out and play a Primus set just the three of us – pretty bare-bones, Primus-style – and then the curtain opens and you're in the Chocolate Factory," says Claypool channeling his inner-Wonka.
