After holding down the low end for Matisyahu, Lee “Scratch” Perry, and Wu-Tang Clan, Josh Werner has re-emerged with a new project that spotlights his masterful dub playing and intensely dirty G&L tone. Helio Parallax’s first EP features ambient dub tracks centered on Werner’s deep synth riffs and rolling lines. The standout bass track, “Another Broken Human,” finds Werner migrating to the high register for some melodic and moody licks.
