In his downtime from A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, Matt McJunkins has been busy completing the first EP from his band the Beta Machine. Stepping into the frontman role, McJunkins blazes through the fast-picking rollercoaster of “The End” with precision before settling into the haunting backbeat of “Pictures” and the synth-driven “Again and Again.” It’s refreshing to hear McJunkin’s own musical voice shine through on an emotive project that is equal parts technical and captivating.
