A four-CD live box set version of Cream’s Goodbye Tour Live 1968 album is on its way next month courtesy of UMC. With 36 tracks, 29 of which make their first appearance on CD, the four concerts it contains were recorded at the Oakland Coliseum, Los Angeles Forum and San Diego Sports Arena during Cream’s farewell tour of the US in October 1968. It also adds their final UK date at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 26 of the same year. There are a total of 19 previously unreleased tracks, and a further 10 tracks from the Royal Albert Hall show, which have only ever been available on DVD. Rolling Stone magazine’s David Fricke supplies liner notes. One more reason, like we needed one, to celebrate the great Jack Bruce, and indeed, the recently-departed Ginger Baker.
