Nathan East & Paul Gilbert: "One Chord Challenge"

Acclaimed shredder, Gilbert, best known as the guitarist for Mr. Big, throws down a challenge to East, best known as the bassist for Eric Clapton, and, well, everyone.

Last year, ArtistWorks artists, Paul Gilbert and Nathan East met up and played together for the first time while East was in town recording new bass lessons for his students and ArtistWorks captured their meet-up and jam in a video series.

 In this clip of the series, acclaimed shredder, Gilbert, best known as the guitarist for Mr. Big, throws down a challenge to East, best known as the bassist for Eric
 Clapton, Joe Satriani George Harrison, and, well, everyone, to imagine that he's been sentenced to a prison term of playing only in the key of A for twenty minutes. (It's only a few minute clip, but you'll get the point.)

The pair clearly enjoyed their jam together. Here's how they demonstrated how much you can do with just one chord:
