Since releasing word of their upcoming SciFunk mini-movie, Looking for the Bassmaker starring Freeekbass and Stonefield Music Founder, Tomm Stanley, Stonefield have made arrangements to host the film on their website for the rest of the bass world to see as close as possible to the same time of the live premier.
The premier showing of the film will be on October 22nd, in Los Angeles at the Bass Player Live! show during the midway point of the evening concert, at about 9:30pm Pacific Standard Time (i.e. California time) and will include not only the movie but also a live appearance by both Tomm and Freeekbass.
Tomm explains, "Since enthusiasm for the film is beginning to be apparent, and much of the bass community will not be at the show, we've decided to make it go live on our website just as soon after the premier showing as we possibly can. We've got the countdown timer set for a 10:00pm upload on the same night, October 22nd. We want the Bass Player Live! showing to be first, so that's as close to a simulcast as we can confidently create."
The film has been coined as SciFunk because of the mixing of science fiction and fantasy elements with the funk music world of Freekbass. As Freek says, "We filmed on location in New Zealand so even in a short format such as this the amazing scenery stands out. The story line is mysterious and full of cool surprises."
If you're not able to make it to the Bass Player Live! concert be sure to set you alarms for 10:00pm PST on Saturday Oct 22nd and catch Looking for the Bassmaker when it goes live online: HERE
