How did you come to play bass?

In 1988, my friend Jon wanted to start a band to showcase the songs he’d written. I owned both a guitar amp and a bass amp (Jon owned neither), so I was the logical choice to join him. I made the switch from guitar to bass and have been at it ever since.

What’s a lesson you’ve learned along the way?

Show up, tune up, and shut up.

What are your musical goals?

To put myself at the service of the song, helping to unlock its full potential. And to kick major ass onstage.
