Guitar Villa Starlite Stage Presents a World Jazz Fusion performance Featuring - Bakithi Kumalo, Mauricio Zottarelli and Miho Nobuzane

Guitar Villa is excited to announce a World Jazz Fusion performance featuring a trio of word-renowned musicians with outstanding, diverse backgrounds on Sunday, November 22 at Guitar Villa’s Starlite Stage, Quakertown.

This unique gathering of stellar talents include world-renowned bassist Bakithi Kumalo, Mauricio Zottarelli on drums and Miho Nobuzane on keyboards.

Immediately after the performance Guitar Villa and Wisdom Drums will present a performance drum clinic and custom build informational expo. Conducting the clinic will be Bakithi Kumalo, Mauricio Zottarelli, John J. Slog and Dan Andree.

About Bakithi Kumalo –
World famous bassist and 26 year member of the Paul Simon Band, Bakithi Kumalo has become a close friend and associate instructor at Guitar Villa. Born in South Africa, Bakithi’s captivating talent was recognized by Paul Simon when travelling in South Africa to capture the roots of the local sound for his Graceland album. This collaboration resulted in Kumalo creating what many consider to be one of the most famous bass solos in pop music on "You Can Call Me Al.” He has worked with artists such as Gloria Estefan, Herbie Hancock, Laurie Anderson, Chaka Khan, Harry Belafonte, Mickey Hart and Planet Drum, Cyndi Lauper, Joan Baez, Grover Washington Jr., Bob James, The Tedeschi Trucks band and Randy Brecker. While a vital live performance musician, a singer and songwriter, Bakithi is also regarded as one of the best studio bassists in the world.

About Mauricio Zottarelli -
Brazilian born Drummer and percussionist, has been on the forefront of the Jazz, Latin and Brazilian music scenes for many years. Since his move to New York City in 2006, he has become one of the most sought after drummers on the scene. Zottarelli is credited in more than 70 albums so far in his career, and has worked and shared the stage with Hiromi, Eliane Elias, Marc Johnson, Prasanna, Lee Ritenour, Dave Grusin and Esperanza Spalding, to name a few.

About Miho Nobuzane -
Mihi Nobuzane, pianist, vocalist, composer and arranger was born in Osaka, Japan, where she majored in classical piano during college. After she moved into New York, she began to distinguish herself immediately in the Brazilian music scene. Subsequently expanding to various music genres where she performed with such well-known great musicians as; Bernard "Pretty" Purdie, Filo Machado, Sergio Brandao, Nilson Matta, Lincoln Goines, David Finck, Cafe, Portinho, Victor Jones, Hendrik Meurkens, Carla Cook, Bakithi Kumalo, Ana Popovic, Martha Reeves & Vandellas, and many others.
