Keep your eyes and ears opened while navigating between the exhibitor areas, clinics, and the concert at Bass Player LIVE!—you never know who you might come face to face with. In addition to the featured performers and clinicians at BPL, a host of top bassists are planning to attend the event, check out the latest gear, and perhaps even participate in the All-Star jam (see the list of Special Guest Appearances). From rising bass stars like Tal Wilkenfeld, Chris Chaney and Justin Meldal-Johnsen, to low-end legends Jack Casady, Verdine White and Lee Sklar, to such veteran craftsmen as Nathan East, “Ready” Freddie Washington, Brian Bromberg and Phil Chen, this year will be star-studded indeed. So be prepared to press the flesh with a fave who could be turning the corner at any second! —Chris Jisi

But a festival like this is only the start of one path to stardom, and success never comes without hard work and calculated business.
