Demeter Amplification Releases the Bass-400D

Building on the success of the VTDB-M-800D, we wanted to come up with even a smaller more competitively priced Amplifier that could deliver the Demeter sound and keep the compromises to a bare minimum.

Building on the success of the VTDB-M-800D, we wanted to come up with even a smaller more competitively priced Amplifier that could deliver the Demeter sound and keep the compromises to a bare minimum. James Demeter designed a new smaller PCB that has the same tube pre-amp circuitry as the original VTBP-201, he added a new solid state driver circuit and line balanced studio out and still managed to make it less than half the size of the original PCB. The result was the sonic masterpiece that made the Bass 400 possible. Classic tube sound with lots of class D power in two compact great looking, very affordable Packages.

Classic VTBP-201 tube pre-amp circuitry . Hand wired in the USA using High quality components, DC filament, full 220V high voltage supply. Passive tube tone controls Treble, Middle, Bass and Presence. Our new Mode switch that lets you control the overall tone: Dark, Normal and Bright. It also includes active and Passive inputs. The unit has a pre-amp output if you need to run more power amplifiers (like our Minnie 800D) and a power Amp input. The power Amplifier delivers 250 Watts RMS into 8 ohms and 400 watts RMS into 4 ohms There are two Speakon combo jacks on the back to hook up your speakers. The unit comes stock with a line level Balanced studio out that is selectable Pre or Post EQ. We also offer an upgrade for the studio out using a Jensen transformer microphone level Direct output. The Amplifier comes in a Black Tolex covered birch plywood cabinet with handle or a compact Cage version. The amp weighs only 8 lbs and measures (Head)11”wide x 5.5”high x 8.5”deep and (Cage)10”wide x. 4.25”high x 6” deep. Built right here in the USA in our Barn in Templeton CA.

Inputs: two instrument level 1/4” jack. One for active Basses and one for Passive Basses
Tone section: Treble Control: The treble control gives 6 dB of boost or cut at 4 kHz (6dB per octave, shelving type). Middle Control: The middle give 6dB of boost or cut at 500Hz (wide Q, peaking type).Bass Control: The bass control gives 9dB of boost or cut at a frequency of 80Hz (6dB per octave, shelving type).Presence Control: The presence control gives up to 12dB of boost at a frequency of 4kHz (active type, 6dB per octave).
Mode switch: Dark, is a high frequency cut fattening up your fundmental. Normal, flat opertion showing off more overtones. Bright, brings out the overtones on the dullest basses or speakers.
Internal Volume Trimmer: This control is designed to match the output volume of the Bass 400D with the sensitivity of any Bass.
Standard, Studio output: Line level solid state driven 3 pin balanced output selectable Pre or post EQ with gound lift.
Optional, Studio Output: The VT-400-DJ features a mic level Jensen DB-E output transformer for a balanced studio output for the best isolation and ground lift.
Power Amplifier input: line level input for the 400 watt power amplifer +9 dB for full ouput
Pre-amplifier out put: Lets your pre-amp control more power amplifers (Minnie 800D) for any size venue
Power Amp Outputs: Operating at 4 (400w), 8 (250w) or 16 ohm (150w). 1/4” & Speakon
