Gibson unveiled the Memphis ES Les Paul bass at Winter NAMM in Anaheim last month.
According to Gibson's spokesperson, the semi-hollow 30.2" short scale bass has the same neck and body as an ES Les Paul with a few internal differences to adapt to hardware location and was inspired by "everything."
At the moment, the two basses that Gibson brought to NAMM, a vintage dark burst and a gold top, were made specifically for NAMM and are the only two that exist. Production and shipping are expected later in 2015.
