The VT Bass 200 is a 200-Watt bass combo amp with an all-analog SansAmp™ pre-amp and Class D power amp. Housed in an easily portable, lightweight, rear-ported 1x12 cabinet, the VT Bass 200 offers an exceptional range of vintage and modern bass tones.

Like its pedal predecessors in the SansAmp Character Series, it has a unique, continuously-variable Character control that moves seamlessly between decades of different voicings. It alters the entire sonic structure of the sound to achieve some of the most distinctive bass amp tones on the planet. To offer an even wider range of bass amp styles than those in the “VT” family, there’s a Shift button to alter the frequencies within the Character circuitry. This flexibility brings an additional crop of distinctive bass amp tones to the table.

Other controls include Drive to adjust the overall amount of gain and overdrive, similar to when the output of a tube amp is being pushed. The Bite switch activates a presence boost, which tightens up the sound when you are in distorted settings. It also adds definition to your notes when the Drive is set for cleaner tones.

For studio and live applications, our proprietary, 100% analog SansAmp Tube Amplifier Emulation technology enables you to go straight into the mixer of a recorder or PA system via the switchable XLR Direct Output. Other features include active tone controls, cut or boost 18dB, with switchable mid frequency, a piezo-friendly 1/4” high impedance 4.7 MegOhm input, Tweeter with on/off switch, Effects Loop, Auxiliary Input, Headphone Output, Extension Speaker Output, and worldwide power supply. Measures 17.5”l x 14”w x 17.5”h and weighs just 28 lbs.

TO MANY OF US, THE ULTIMATE IN OLDschool soul and rock & roll bass tone was codifi ed back in the 1960s and hasn’t changed a whole lot since; hand a dude like me a P-Bass and the choice of an Ampeg B-15 combo or SVT stack, and watch him settle into hours of blissed-out riff-andgroove noodling.
